july 2020: Recipes, Cookbooks and the History of cooking

The Extension and Outreach Department at the Tiffin-Seneca Public Library allows the Library to come to you! For groups who can't make it to the Library, such as persons with disabilities, home-bound, or those who live in nursing homes or assisted living facilities, our Extension and Outreach Manager Beth Gottfried makes sure you have all the Library materials you need! In addition to making those important deliveries, she gives presentations at these facilities that are designed to rekindle memories and encourage sharing about bygone days, as well as entertain and educate.

Even though Beth hasn't been able to visit these facilities the last few months, we want to continue to provide our senior population with the entertaining and educational presentations they get from Beth! This month, the theme is Recipes, Cookbooks and the History of Cooking! A fun craft project made from materials you may have around the house will follow her presentation. Instructions for the craft can be found below.

Also check out these fun resources, including a word search, recipe for Beth’s favorite Fourth of July dessert, and blank recipes cards to record your own recipes to pass along to kids and grandkids!
