“This entry is submitted on behalf of my mom, Betty. She is affectionately nicknamed “Betty Crocker” in our family because of her lifelong passion for cooking and baking. Her skills are endless, from growing a glorious vegetable garden in the summer, to canning her famous spaghetti sauce in the fall, and sharing so many delicious treats with us all year round. Her love goes far beyond the kitchen and we couldn’t be more grateful for her. Pictured is my mom, Betty O’Connor, alongside her adorable assistant and grandson, Ryan. He is enjoying an Oatmeal Cream Pie adapted from Betty Crocker’s Oatmeal Cookie and Vanilla Buttercream Frosting recipes. ”
